To ensure that, in the future, we can continue to lead the way when it comes to shaping the success of other lines of research, new methods such as 3D printing, virtual reality, tissue engineering or gene therapy are analysed and adapted with our clinical issues in mind. The issues we deal with are fundamental ones, such as: Why does an infected wound not heal? What role does the secretome play in fracture healing? Can you achieve a better understanding of the data collected by the nano-CT by integrating VR applications?

The goal is to continue to intelligently shift the limits of what is feasible with a focus on the well-being of patients. To achieve this aim, concepts are developed and tested; these concepts may then bring about the diagnostic, therapeutic and healthcare research of tomorrow.
